Bekan’s Newest Handballers

The Connaught Cumann na mBunscoil one wall handball championships took place in Kilglass Co.Roscommon on Thursday 27th November. This is the culmination of the 25/26 one wall championships where representatives from each county compete in the u11 and u13 categories in either the singles or doubles competition. In a first for Bekan NS, Michael Macken (1st Class) competed in the u11s singles competition against a player from Sligo. The game was hotly contested with both boys trading aces and a number of good rallies which drew some great applause from the crowd. Michael didn’t progress missing out on a scoreline of 21-17, but really enjoyed the experience and did well in his first competition. Well done Michael.
